Consistency Is The Key - Consistency Is What Builds, Not One Time Change

!: Consistency Is The Key - Consistency Is What Builds, Not One Time Change

How do you build a career that lasts?

Do the right things over and over again.

How do you build a relationship with your spouse that lasts?

Do the right things over and over again.

How do you get out of debt?

Do the right things over and over again.

How do you walk in forgiveness and God's power?

Do the right things over and over again.

Consistently doing what is the right thing, the noble thing, the thing of excellence yields a harvest of peaceable fruit. We need to make choices for what the result will be, rather than 'hoping' or wishing for the result and then making a choice.

I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish! STOP IT! Press in, press forward, have backbone, press forward, maintain!! CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY, what we CONSISTENTLY do is what will yield the fruit of tomorrow. Doing the right thing for a long time is what brings victory! Doing the right thing over and over again.

People go on diets and change their behaviour for a week- and say it 'doesn't work'. The reality is what they do consistently is what will affect how they are. Same with money, same with cleaning a house, raising kids, you name it.

When we desire to live a victorious life, a life that is overcoming, a life that is not influenced by the world but is influencing the world, we must consistently be in the Word. GOD SPEAKS to us thru His Word.... if we spend 2 hours a week in the Bible, don't be surprised if God's voice is faint. If we spend 1 hour each day, expect that kind of result in your week. If we spend 2 hours in the Word a day, expect the same result. What we reap, we sow.

Our life is not much different than anyone else's, we've all been hurt. Time to stop looking for reasons why our life is so far different than others. We've all got our trials we all have our
troubles- we are not victims, we are victorious.

We all have to put our trust in God. We all have to overcome the devil. We all have to press in and press past the feelings- FEELINGS keep people from going forward more than anything.

The believer's number one struggle is with emotions. We want to blame things on someone else. When we realize we have to stop blaming others, we need to take ownership of our feelings and our own attitudes. It's painful to find something wrong with me- it's not painful to find something wrong in someone else.

WE cannot change others- ONLY God can get inside someone else and change someone. We cannot change people- we can force people to behave a certain way, but the problem in them is only changeable by God. When we see things in others, we need to ask God to change us. SOME of the things we see in others, might just be in us.

The things we see in others might NEVER change. If we let God, He'll change us so much we could care less about how others are. He'll change us to the point that we won't be so defensive, we won't be so offended so easily. When we walk with Him on a daily basis and seek His advise, His opinion, His wisdom, we'll begin to see more of what needs changing in ourselves before we see what needs changing in others.

The reality is, no discipline seems joyous initially, but later on if trained by it, it will yield the peacable fruit of those that are trained by it. If we want anything to change in our lives, we need to do what is required to get that change. Stop spending more than you earn. Stop eating more than you need to eat. Stop listening to gossip. Stop walking around asking God for help and not spending time in His word. No one can do it for us, we have to do it. And no discipline seems joyous initially, but when we are trained by it, we will yield the fruit.

Consistency, the world needs someone who is consistent. Someone with an excellent spirit. Someone who can be trusted to do what is right.

God Asks Questions?

!: God Asks Questions?

After telling Jeremiah, a prophet of Jehovah God in Israel, what He was planning and purposing to do to a certain nation the Lord asks some questions that only one who knows God could possibly answer. This is all recorded in the Bible in one of it's books named after it's author Jeremiah. Chapter 49:19(b)~

His first idea for a response was 'Who is like Me?' We who know Him have to shout triumphantly 'No one on the earth compares to You Lord God. Since He makes all the rules His next asking about the possibility of anybody worldwide having anything to say about His doings seems pointless. 'Who will appoint Me the time and prosecute Me for this proceeding?' There is no court or Judge in any time zone that could have any bearing on God's time or what people dare to accuse Him of.

The last want to know He has is simply to cause us to look around and realize the truth. 'What earthly national shepherd can stand before Me and defy Me?' Will any government or military leader, army, airforce, navy even consider going against Him or doing the opposite to what He tells them to do? Not if they really know Him. He is unbeatable, unstoppable and unapproachable when He takes any form of action. Wow!

In this same chapter in verse 13 God says that He has sworn by Himself. There is nothing more certain than God Himself. All the earth's people that are, will be or have been put together with every conceivable weapon cannot stop God's plans or purposes. We have no say in what God is about. No king, president or prime minister can change Father God's mind or heart when He decides on any issue. He carries out His plans using anyone including rulers, military, elements of the earth, even animals.

When He says: in verses 32 & 36 'I will scatter them to all 4 winds...

I will bring their calamity from every side...

verse 35 I will break the bow...( their main weapons)

verse 37 I will cause dismay, terror of their enemies...

I will bring evil...

I will send the sword...

verse 38 I will set My throne of judgment there...

I will destroy from their kings and princes...

and verse 39 in the latter days I will turn back the captivity and restore the fortunes of...

then that is exactly what He will do in spite of all else.

He is the great God Jehovah of Israel. No one stands in His way. No one stands against His will. YES, God asks questions just to answer them for us Himself and thus we get to know Who is in control at all times.

Do Not Limit God

!: Do Not Limit God

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One Of Israel (Psalm 78:41).

Do you know it is possible to limit God in your life? A lot of people have unconsciously placed limits on what the Lord can do in their lives. For example, there is a young guy who wants to get a job and all he prays is, "Oh Lord, please let my application be accepted in so and so company." He places so much emphasis in his prayer on his letter of application, thinking that God must do it that way. Unknown to him, he is limiting God, because He fails to realize that God could give him that job any other way, or even a better one.

Listen, when God wants to do something, He does not have to follow the way that men have laid down - He overrides all human 'modus operandi.' When Joshua was plotting how to overthrow Jericho, a city whose walls were almost impregnable, God showed up and said, "Boy, get rid of all those calculations; we will do it my way. March round the city for seven good days and shout, and the walls will fall down flat" (Joshua 6). What a strategy! God did not say "Now, Joshua, let us roll out the bulldozers and tractors"; He had to get Joshua out of the box he was in, and everything went as God had said.

Do not ever place a limit on God! You limit Him when you think that the only way He can get something done is the way you think He will do it. He is too big to be tied down to man's way of doing things. When he does His thing, He does not need to do it according to your plans. Trust Him, because He is God Almighty, and He is able to do "...exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us".
